Notice that 180 days and 6 months are not the same day. Six calendar months from October hold 182 days here, because October, December, January and March have 31 days each and February has 28. When a lease, a warranty or a visa says “6 months”, count months; when it says “180 days”, count days. Thirty days counted back from the same Friday is Wednesday 9 September 2026.
Does today count?
“30 days from today” means the start day is day zero: the first day counted is tomorrow, and day 30 is the answer. That is how Octoolo counts, and how most deadlines are written: a bill due 30 days from 9 October is due on 8 November.
Some rules count the first day as day one, which makes the answer a day earlier. A medicine taken “for 30 days” starting today ends on the 29th day after it, for example. If your rule includes the start day, ask for one day fewer. When you need to check a span both ways, days between dates counts from one date to another and has a switch for counting the last day too.
Working days: weekends skipped, holidays not
With Working days only switched on, Saturdays and Sundays are skipped and only Monday to Friday are counted. The start day is not counted, so 1 working day after a Friday is the Monday. Ten working days from Friday 9 October 2026 is Friday 23 October, and 30 working days lands on Friday 20 November, which the answer lists as 42 calendar days. Counting back works the same way: 1 working day before a Monday is the Friday before it.
Public holidays are not taken out, because they depend on the country, the state and sometimes the employer. If Thanksgiving (26 November 2026) falls inside your span, move the answer one working day later for it. Contracts and courts often set their own rules for business days, so read how yours counts.
Adding months and years to the 29th, 30th and 31st
Months have 28 to 31 days, so adding a month to the end of one can land on a day that does not exist. Octoolo then gives the last day of the month and says so: 31 January 2026 plus 1 month is 28 February 2026, and 31 August 2026 plus 6 months is 28 February 2027. In 2028, a leap year, 31 January plus a month is 29 February. Adding a year to 29 February gives 28 February of the next year.
Spreadsheets agree: Excel's EDATE function keeps to the last day of the shorter month in the same way. Adding days is never ambiguous, since every day is one day, which is why notice periods and return windows are usually written in days. The answer also shows the week number (ISO weeks, which start on Monday) for schedules that are planned by week.

What is the date 90 days from today?
Open Days from a date and type 90: the answer appears at once, and the 90 days card shows it too. From 9 October 2026, for example, it is Thursday 7 January 2027.
How many weeks is 90 days?
12 weeks and 6 days. Pick Weeks to count in whole weeks: 13 weeks from a Friday is another Friday, 91 days later.
Can it count business days?
Yes. Switch on Working days only (with Days chosen) and Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. Public holidays are not, so add those yourself.
Can I count backwards?
Yes. Choose Before: 30 days before 9 October 2026 is Wednesday 9 September 2026.
