Passwords · Windows 10 and 11
Your passwords, kept on your PC
Keep every password, card and note in a vault encrypted on your computer, sign in with one-time codes, see all your accounts in one list, and check whether a password has turned up in a data breach.
What you can do in Passwords
Passwords and accounts
The password manager keeps logins, cards, notes and Wi-Fi passwords in one encrypted file on your computer, with one-time codes for two-step sign-in. The account manager shows the same vault as a list of your accounts, and the password leak check tells you whether a password has appeared in a data breach.
Questions, answered
Where are my passwords kept?
In one encrypted file on your computer, locked with your master password. They are not stored on any server.
Can Octoolo see my passwords?
No. The vault is encrypted with a key made from your master password, which Octoolo never stores or sends anywhere, so nobody at Octoolo can read it.
What if I forget the master password?
Then the vault cannot be opened, by you or by us. Keep the master password written down somewhere safe, and keep an encrypted backup too.
Does anything about me leave my PC?
Only when you check passwords for leaks: the first five characters of each password's SHA-1 fingerprint go to Have I Been Pwned, never the password itself.
