Audio Editor · Windows 10 and 11

An audio editor without the clutter

Four tracks to cut, arrange and mix. Clean up background noise, even out the loudness, change the speed without chipmunk voices, take a song apart into its voice and its music with AI, and export MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, Opus or an iPhone ringtone.

Cut, arrange and mix

Drop your recordings in and they line up on Track 1, one after another. Drag the ends of a sound to cut it, split it, drag it to another track to play over the first, and set each sound's volume, fades and speed. Videos go in too: their sound is what you edit.

Export and convert

Export the mix as MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC or Opus, or as an iPhone ringtone. To change files from one format to another without editing them, Convert sound files takes whole folders and writes 15 formats, from WAV to MP3 to FLAC to MP3. And Record your voice captures your microphone as a WAV file.

Questions, answered

Is it like Audacity?

Simpler. It has tracks, cutting, fades, volume, speed, noise reduction and loudness, without the menus of effects, plus an AI vocal remover. For a podcast cut, a voice-over, a karaoke track or a ringtone, it is all there.

Can it change the pitch?

No. Speed changes keep the pitch the same; shifting the pitch on its own is not in it.

Can it turn speech into text, or text into speech?

Not yet. Both are on their way.

Which files can I open?

Any sound FFmpeg reads, such as MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WMA and AIFF, and videos, whose sound you then edit.

What does it need?

Windows 10 or 11, and FFmpeg, which Octoolo downloads once the first time (77 MB). The vocal remover downloads its AI model once too, the first time you use it: 91 MB, and the 15 MB AI engine if no other AI tool has fetched it.
